Getaway Fun

All I can say is Thank You! I'm overwhelmed by your extremely kind words about the pin giveaway. I can't wait to see who wins on Wednesday. I feel like I'm the real winner.

I'm home from the weekend getaway, tired but exhilarated. We don't go there to sleep, we go for the large dose of inspiration and friendship.

I'm so proud of all my students! (It's funny to call them that, since I met a lot of them when I was a brand new quilter, 18 years ago.) Some of them will be visiting the blog for the first time, so I'll show you what a great job they did.

The Friday night mini-project is called "midnight madness" but we start earlier and earlier each year (8:00!). Here is our parliment of owls. (I had to Google to find out what to call a group of owls.)Ready for show & tell? Here goes.

We had 21 completed quilt tops this morning! Awesome! The pattern is Dimensional Designs Pattern #2, Easy Overlay, designed by Linda Warren. It is available from Valley Fabrics in Northampton, MA. I reduced the blocks in size and number to make it a manageable size for a large group class.
We had a few over-achievers who made the full size version. Maria's was particularly challenging with two directional prints. It could be fun to see a giraffe standing on his head!Isn't it fun to see the same pattern done in so many different color combinations? Hope you enjoyed the show! I'll see you tomorrow with photos of what I worked on when I wasn't teaching.

Ciao,
Tina

What a terrific time you all had! I love all the different versions of the quilt. The owls are fantastic. And I just love Valley Fabrics. They are really nice and a great place to visit.
