This is what happens when I need to be distracted. A quilt top gets pieced in two days! Pete finally flew to San Diego on Friday to report to Camp Pendleton for Infantry Training. The polar vortex cancelled his flight which kept him home an extra four days. We have no idea when we'll get to see him again, hence the need for brightly colored fabric!
Maybe I should call this quilt San Diego Serenade. The top measures 48" x 60". That's not a bad size for a lap quilt, so I might leave it borderless. What would you do? Border or no border?
My new son-in-law reports to Pendleton for infantry training on Tuesday. I realize the connection is not as close; Kevin's only been part of our lives for years, but I already miss him. We, too, don't know when he'll be home again.
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt just the way it is. (But then, I'm really never much about borders.) Love the color!!!

So bright and colorful; to me it looks great without borders. But I am partial: I hate to make borders. Most of my quilts don't have borders.
ReplyDeleteI loved the stripped top from an older post.
For me, borders or not depend on how you're going to use this quilt. Is it a throw? Then no borders. Will it go on a bed? Then borders.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you've posted about what Pete is doing but I'm too lazy to go back & find the posts. Which branch of the service is he in? What has he completed so far? My 19 year old high school senior is planning to join the Marine reserves soon.
Perfect the way it is! I vote NO borders!
ReplyDeleteAnd a Big Hug to you - can not imagine one of my children being in the military and living so far away.
no borders imho! Bless you as you adjust to yet another change...
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I like it exactly like it is so I guess I'm voting no borders. :)
ReplyDeleteI vote for no borders - I think. I forget which one of your quilts was posted in progress without borders and looked great. Then lo and behold, borders were added and it looked great too! So, either way, it will look awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteContinued prayers for you & Pete!
I'm like everyone else. No Borders.
ReplyDeleteThe colors pop and are eye catching. It's great the way it is.
