Getaway Giveaway!

Yay! My first Giveaway! Since I'm leaving today for my annual quilting getaway, please leave a comment telling me what you'll be doing for fun this weekend, quilting or otherwise, or just introduce yourself. A random winner will be chosen on Wednesday and will receive her/his choice of (3) three of the lapel pins shown above! Keep them all for yourself or share them with quilty friends.

I've been making these paper-pieced pins since 1994 and my customers and friends keep pushing me to add new designs. At first they were all traditional patterns like log cabins and flying geese. Then they wanted something for each season and holiday. Yesterday, I designed the cupcake because I bought a cute cupcake fabric last week. It has a sequin and bead for the cherry on top. The Dutchman's Puzzle is my favorite.

Most of the pins are about 1-3/4" square. The flying geese is about 1" x 1-3/4". There is a piece of mat board inside for stability and the back is covered with Ultrasuede®.

I'm hoping to set up an Etsy shop very soon, where the pins will sell for $12 each. That makes the Giveaway prize of 3 pins a $36 value.

Please leave a comment to enter and spread the word. I'll be away until Sunday afternoon and I look forward to reading your comments. It's time for me to start packing!

Ciao,
Tina

  59. I have never seen such small quilting and I am in awe. I would love to wind. What a nice blog you have! Well, I was not doing anything nearly as fun as a quilting getaway....looks like you had loads of fun. My son came down with a terrible case of pink eye (I have never seen an eye swell shut due to it.) and tonsilitis. I have just been being mama nurse this weekend. Your pins would really pick up my day!

  65. Love your blog, adding you to my stalking list; I'm a fellow pickle. My weekend was a do nothing but watch stupid movies and stare at the ceiling weekend (and cry, amazing how cleansing that is), but I desperately needed it and even ran away from home to achieve it. Your owls are adorable and the quilts everyone put together are great.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Oh how beautiful! Those pins are absolutely amazing!

So, you spent the weekend at a quilty getaway - lucky you!

I spent my weekend hosting a fairly boring meeting and then going out for a meal with lots of friends. Luckily I also got to baste lots of hexagons for 'hexagons of hope' for the Australian quilters who have lost everything in the recent fires.

On Sunday Morning I let DH make breakfast for the masses (it is important he knows how to feed himself if anything happens to me!) and looked after our guests - while basting more hexies! (I made 120, so hopefully someone will get to create with them really soon.)

In the evening I planned my lessons for this week - I teach High School - I didn't get any of my sewing done, but I think I had a productive weekend :-)

  67. hiyall,

  75. It's not Wednesday yet so I may have time to enter. I would love to win your pins - they are so cute. I have three daughters and I know exactly the ones that they would like. One is the lady bug for sure. Last weekend flew by with shopping on Sat. and getting Sunday dinner ready on Sunday. Getting my mom over here from the nursing home takes time. I did however, manage to repair some of the laundry items she gave me. Hemming pjs, repairing elastic and mending wee holes in other items. She was oh so grateful and it took so little time to do.
